It is the Policy of Skill Electric that every individual is entitled to a Safe and Healthful place in which to work. We are committed to providing both a work site that is free from recognized hazards, and one which fosters an environment supporting the health and safety of all employees, subcontractors, as well as all other individuals who may be exposed to potential hazards in the work place. To this end, every reasonable effort will be made in the interest of accident prevention, health preservation and to abide by all safety regulations as they pertain to our industry. Safety requirements must be considered fundamental to the design of the procedures for the construction of our projects. We are committed to providing a work site that is free from recognized hazards, as well as one which fosters an environment supporting the health and safety of all employees and subcontractors, along with any other individuals who may be exposed to potential workplace hazards. We measure our safety success through employee involvement, statistical data, project inspections, and training. Safety and craft training is paramount in the daily operations of the company. Every Skill Electric employee has or will receive 8000 hours of on the job training in addition to more than 1000 hours of rigorous classroom training to be considered qualified, or shall be indentured in the registered apprenticeship program through the Bureau of Apprenticeship Training. Most employees receive an Associate’s Degree in Applied Science upon completion of training. While employed with Skill Electric Company, each line employee will receive an OSHA 10 hour card and all Supervisors will receive an OSHA 30 hour card. All employees receive 12 hours of training on NFPA70E, Electrical Safety in the Workplace in addition to rescue methods (CPR, AED, and First Aid). Specialized training occurs whenever the need arises. All training is performed in-house, by a qualified trainer, for each of the topics covered. All told, each Skill Electric employee will receive a minimum of 50 hours of safety training annually. The Management concept of Skill Electric Company is not services and Safety, it is service with Safety. When service with Safety is achieved, service with efficiency is simultaneously attained. Safety is the cornerstone of our operations. We at Skill Electric Company have a basic responsibility to make the Safety of human beings a part of our daily, hourly concern. The successful operation of Skill Electric Company will depend not only on service, but also on how safely each employee performs his or her job. There is no job so important, nor any service so urgent, that we can’t take time to work safely. We consider the safety of our personnel to be of prime importance, and we expect full cooperation in making our program effective.
